Kayako first joined Twitter in March 2009. Back then, I said:
Necessity is the supposed mother of invention. I wonder who sat down and said: “I need a way to broadcast 140 byte messages to the Internet.” (It was probably the same person who decided that sending 160 character messages was a best use of a mobile phone, which could otherwise be used to talk to people thousands of miles away!)
Whether or not Twitter has a ‘point’ for us as individuals, I think that Twitter will be a really useful tool for Kayako and you
Since then, we have used Twitter to engage our customers in discussions about their helpdesks and CRM, hold a competition (which brought many of our customers to Twitter for the first time), syndicate announcements coming from our blog and forum and gather lots of feedback about our products.
Tweeting with our customers (both current and potential) is great fun. However, over the last few months, we have found that people have different expectations and different ways of using Twitter – not everyone wants to read about CRM articles or our customer feedback (we can’t help but share some!). Some people just want to receive notices and news from their vendors.
To make sure that no one misses out keeping on the Kayako pulse, we’ve created another Twitter account – @KayakoOps.
- @Kayako is our main Twitter account. We’ll post company news, announcements, sneak product previews and will share information and articles we think our customers will find interesting. We’ll answer your questions and respond to your feedback.
- @KayakoOps is our secondary Twitter account. We will only post company news, announcements and service updates to this feed. This account will be strictly one-way.
If we’re not already following you, make yourself known to us by Tweeting @Kayako.
