Kayako 4.51 introduces more than 150 improvements and fixes to your helpdesk, including a number of updates to Kayako Mobile for Android and Kayako Mobile for Windows Phone.
More than 150 improvements, fixes and APIs
Kayako 4.51 is a chunky maintenance update, bringing with it a number of improvements:
- Fixes and improvements – more than 150 fixes and improvements to make your helpdesk experience even better.
- New APIs – we have added support in the Kayako API for self-service, including news, the knowledgebase and the troubleshooter.
- PHP 5.4 support – if you have installed Kayako on your own server, Kayako now supports PHP 5.4 (and requires at least PHP 5.3).
- Security – all of the latest security fixes and enhancements.
Kayako OnDemand customers have already been updated. Kayako Download customers with an active product updates and support subscription can find the updated installation package in my.kayako.com and the upgrade guide can be found here.
Bursting with knowledge
The helpdesk is a hive of knowledge and activity. Your team creates knowledge when interacting with and solving your customer’s issues, and knowledge is captured using Kayako’s easy-to-use self-service tools.
We want to make it easier to release and exploit the full potential of that knowledge helpdesk throughout your organization, which was the driver for the new self-service support added to the Kayako API.
You can now capture new self-service content from other apps and services and share your existing self-service content stored in the helpdesk. Fetch, create, update and manage knowledgebase articles and categories, troubleshooter and helpdesk news postings. Find out more about in the Kayako developer wiki.
Kayako Mobile looking great on the iPhone 5
Kayako Mobile for iOS has been updated to take full advantage of the new, elongated iPhone 5 display.
Now you can see more information, tickets and ticket replies with less scrolling and navigation.
The latest Kayako Mobile for iOS with this update is now available in the App Store.
Custom fields now available in a pocket… near you*
Kayako Mobile for Android and Kayako Mobile for Windows Phone now support custom fields in tickets. You can now access the custom fields of your tickets on the go – ideal for work in the field and getting the full picture on the go.
We will bring custom field support to Kayako Mobile for iOS soon.
